A stunning case of fraud has come to light from Ghaziabad near New Delhi, where police uncovered a fake embassy operation allegedly run by a man pretending to be a diplomat. The accused reportedly scammed individuals by promising overseas jobs, exploiting their desperation and trust.
📍 The Incident
The accused, Harshvardhan Jain, allegedly operated out of a rented bungalow in Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram, posing as an ambassador of a non-existent country. He had set up a mock embassy with flag emblems, forged documents, a fake diplomatic license plate, and a team of assistants.💸 What Was Seized?
During the police raid, officers recovered:- ₹45 lakh in cash
- Foreign currencies worth over ₹7 lakh
- Four luxury vehicles with fake diplomatic license plates
- Forged visa stamps and job offer letters
🎭 Modus Operandi
Jain portrayed himself as an ambassador of a fake South American country. He conducted interviews, handed over counterfeit appointment letters, and demanded ₹2–5 lakh per candidate under the guise of "processing fees."👮 Police Investigation & Arrest
The scam came to light when a few victims filed complaints after not receiving promised visas. Based on surveillance and tip-offs, the Crime Branch raided the premises and arrested the accused.Police Statement:
"The accused had created an illusion of diplomatic authority. He wore suits, hired fake staff, and even held fake press conferences. We have initiated fraud and impersonation charges under IPC Sections 419, 420, and 468."

Victims shared how Jain used confidence tricks, lavish office setup, and fluent English to gain trust. One aspirant said, “He convinced us that this was a backdoor into legal international jobs. He even gave us embassy ID cards.”🌐 Rise of Fake Embassies in India?
