Dehradun, July 24, 2025: The first phase of the Uttarakhand Panchayat Election 2025 concluded today with record-breaking voter participation across 49 development blocks in 12 districts. Over 26 lakh voters exercised their democratic rights in a peaceful and vibrant electoral environment.

Districts such as Dehradun, Haridwar, Almora, and Pauri Garhwal witnessed enthusiastic participation from both urban and rural voters. The Election Commission of Uttarakhand confirmed that turnout exceeded 72% in many polling stations.

In high-altitude villages of Chamoli and Bageshwar, election staff trekked for hours to reach remote booths. Such dedication showcases the strength of India’s democratic spirit.
Tech-enabled Transparent Election
EVMs with VVPATs, live booth monitoring apps, and real-time voter verification made the process highly transparent. A help portal was also launched for citizens to check voter lists and polling locations online.

This Panchayat election is a mini-battlefield before the 2027 Assembly polls. Major parties like BJP, Congress, and UKD have closely monitored the results. Party insiders believe the outcomes will reflect the public mood.
