Indore, Madhya Pradesh: A major fire broke out in a passenger bus travelling from Indore to Pune on the night of July 20, 2025, following a horrific collision with a parked container truck on the Agra–Mumbai National Highway near Pithampur. The accident caused panic among the passengers and led to several injuries, though fortunately, no fatalities were reported.

🔥 What Happened?

According to preliminary police reports, the bus rammed into a stationary container truck on the highway due to low visibility and driver misjudgment. The impact caused the engine to burst into flames, which rapidly spread throughout the bus. Panic-stricken passengers rushed to escape, many smashing windows to get out.

🚑 Casualties and Injuries

Over 8 passengers sustained injuries, including minor burns and bruises. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for first aid and later discharged. A few passengers reported difficulty breathing due to smoke inhalation.

The local fire brigade and disaster response team arrived within 20 minutes. Two fire engines controlled the blaze within an hour. The highway was temporarily closed and traffic diverted.

"The flames spread so fast, we had no time to react," said one of the survivors. "People were screaming... we thought the entire bus would explode."
